For this post i explored few videos and how they can be used for an interactive learning tool when teaching k-12 students about the climate change. I decided to select this Video with the tittle of Climate Change for Kids Video – Global Warming . Which is kind of a introduction to what is climate change in a simple way and tells how our planet is getting warmer beacause of the greenhouse gases released in the earths atmosphere. The videos also explains few of the major green house gases such as Carbon dioxide oxide, methane and nitrous oxide with a clear and simple explaination of how human activties such as factories, deforestration ,pollution and agriculture contributes towards the global warming.

The videos itself is not forcing students to respond while watching . however, the video can give them a thought of how our climate is changing with the involvement of human activities. They can sid and listen to audio and watch the visuals for clear understanding .If they want to they can note down the greenhouse gases and the most common causes for the release of such Gases in our atmosphere.

Activity that can be done by students after watching this video can be. i.e they can form small groups and can discuss the events that affects the climate change. Other activity could be Students can suggest few measures on how we can control this climate change. such as using cycle instead of cars, Reusing the plastic items,saving water etc.

This videos could have asked question during the video to force the students to think while watching.For example the video could have asked what gases are release by cow and plastic in the atmosphere?,What are the most common producer of Carbon-di-oxide?. These types of questions Could have increased the student activity and attention.

To address the potential barriers for the learners, it has a caption option for the people who are deaf . Also this videos provides the speed control aswell so people can watch it according to their own pace. Providing a transcript of the video could be better option aswell for stduents who prefer reading . Lastly, Terms which are new for students can be explained by teachers to them so they can get the concept easily.
