How My Interactive Learning Resource Ensures the Needs of All Learners Are Met?

While designing my interactive learning resources,i will make sure that needs of all types of learners are met from the starting.The readings on Inclusive designs and UDL focuses on the point that there is “there is no average learner”, and learning experience should be created with diversity. while making a learning design for learners such as with different abilities and experince one should plan proactively to reduce barriers for the learners.One way for my learning resource could be providing the contend with multiple formats such as text visuals and audio this will help them to understand the contend in the ways they feel the best in.

How can you adjust your planned learning activities to meet the needs of your learners if an unexpected event occurs?

If something unexpected happens such as covid or something else. where students are not able to attend the classes and have to study from home. Then learning activities can be adjusted in a way that students can still have access to the course and learn productive stuff.One main adaptation would be switching towards online resources such as zoom,google-meet, echo360 and prairelearn etc.

To begin with, lectures can be to platforms such as zoom or Echo360. As these platforms offer to record the lectures ,which can be very helpfull for the students who are not able to attend the lectures due to some network or any other problems.Also,the recorded material can also be great for revisiting the material for Revison for any upcoming exam or test on their own speed and preferences.

Another intresting change would be to make/design the lectures contend to be more visually engaging. As students are learning from there home and it can be sometimes distracting/boring . Including more visuals items such as animation,diagrams in slides can be really helpfull for maintain their attention and make the activity material easier to understand.

As its not possible to cover all the doubts students are facing during the lecture time .Extra office hours on zoom can also be hosted to address the doubts, reviews and guidance if they need.This will ensure that students are feeling supported even its not a physical interactive class.One more helpfull stratergie would be providing clear notes and course material to students as its help to focus more on the learning and understanding the concept part Instead of worrying about noting down notes during the lecture time.

Lastly,We can also use the learning Platforms such as Prairelearn ,Brightspace ,corwdmark etcs Can be used for conducting quizzes ,assignments and tests . Which will allow the professors to grade the students and check their performance.

Overall,by using online resources students can be provided with multiple ways to access and engage with the contend and teachers can ensure that learning continues effective during an unexpected situation.

    I also liked your discussion about adapting learning activities during unexpected events such as COVID. Recording lectures and providing them through platforms like Zoom or Echo360 is a helpful strategy because it allows students to revisit the material at their own pace. I remembered when I was taking first year calculus courses, the class size was big, some of the profs recorded the lectures and posted on Brightspace so if we miss anything we can catch up later.

    Your suggestion of additional online office hours is also a good way to maintain support and interaction with students in an online learning environment.
